Frozen Transfer #4 Update!

Happy Spring friends!! I know it’s been quite some time since I last gave an update, so here we go! In case you’re not following me on Instagram, on March 6th we had our fourth frozen embryo transfer. Everything went perfectly (aside from my bladder taking FOREVER to fill up enough to actually do the procedure, but that’s beside the point haha). Since my body fully cooperated this time around, I was able to mimic my ERA cycle exactly, triggering ovulation beforehand and beginning the progesterone in oil injections right on time.

About two days after the transfer, I started feeling the same mild cramps I had with transfer #3. This time, however, I promised I wouldn’t test ahead of our first beta blood test. I have to say, feeling the way I did and knowing that it was positive last time when I felt this way made it very difficult to not test at home! On March 16th, the day finally arrived and I went for my blood test to see if my intuition was correct. I am beyond excited to share with you all that my intuition was right!! WE’RE PREGNANT!!

Everything has been looking absolutely perfect so far! After our first beta, my HCG levels more than doubled every 48 hours which was phenomenal. We had our first ultrasound on March 25th, and the gestational sac and yolk sac were both visible, gestational sac measuring 5 weeks 5 days. Our second ultrasound was the following Friday, April 1st. Fetal pole and heartbeat were both visible this time – baby was measuring 6 weeks 4 days with a heart rate of 127! I swear, I could watch Baby B’s little heart beat all day long! This past Thursday, April 7th, we had our LAST SCAN at our fertility clinic!!! Baby B was still looking perfect, measuring 7 weeks 3 days with a heart rate of 145! Then, on Friday, April 8th, we marked our graduation day from our clinic, something I feared was never going to happen!

This journey has been such a wild ride. Beginning in March 2017, it took us exactly 5 years to get pregnant. 3.5 years of trying on our own, 1.5 years of treatments at our clinic, 227 injections (and counting – Progesterone in oil injections stop May 4th, and I’m hoping my Lovenox injections end on Monday), 2 rounds of IUI, 3 egg retrievals, 4 embryo transfers, countless heartbreaks, physical and mental exhaustion. And I wouldn’t change any of it since it means finally getting our miracle baby. Obviously the next leg of this journey is just beginning, but we are so so so excited to share our joy and excitement with you all as we go to our first regular OB appointment on Tuesday, April 12th. We honestly couldn’t have gotten this far if not for everyone’s love and support during this entire journey. We are truly overwhelmed by everyone’s love for our little one already and cannot wait to share more as Baby B continues to grow!
